Munich based ImFusion GmbH has released the first version of its new multi-sensor 3D reconstruction solution RecFusion Pro. The software is aimed at companies and professionals developing 3D scan systems based on multiple depth sensors, such as for instance turntable based systems. The key features of the software are live 3D reconstruction from multiple depth sensors and fast recording of multi-sensor sequences. Recorded sequences can be reconstructed at a later point in time making this mode of operation particulary attractive for use at events at which many people need to be scanned in a short amount of time. RecFusion Pro also allows to use the full resolution of the color sensor resulting in even more detailed surface colors. The reconstructed models can be directly post-processed in the software using a number of easy-to-use built-in post-processing functions such as cropping the model, filling holes or adding a socket. The scan results can be exported to several standard mesh formats such as STL and OBJ. Based on the standard version of the software ImFusion is also offering customizations of the software for specific scanning setups.

RecFusion Pro supports all OpenNI-based depth sensors such as the Microsoft Kinect v1 and the Asus Xtion Pro Live. A free evaluation version without export functionality can be downloaded from the product website at http://www.recfusion.net. The price of the full version of the software is 499€.

ImFusion GmbH has released version 1.3 of its 3D scanning software RecFusion which allows to interactively create 3D scans of objects in color using a depth sensor such as the Microsoft Kinect. New features in version 1.3 include improved mesh coloring giving scanned objects a more realistic appearance as well as the ability to export the mesh color as UV-texture. UV-texture export allows easier import of the colored mesh into 3rd-party modeling applications which do not directly support vertex-based color representations. In addition the scan reinitialization algorithm was improved enabling a more robust scan experience. Next to these major improvements several smaller usability and functionality updates such as more efficient storage for sequences are included in the new version.

A free evaluation version with reduced export functionality is available at http://www.recfusion.net. The full version is priced at 99€.

ImFusion GmbH has released the first version of its software development kit RecFusion SDK for integrating real-time 3D-reconstruction into custom applications. The SDK is based on technology which is already successfully used in the company's RecFusion software product which allows creating three-dimensional models of objects using depth sensors like the Microsoft Kinect. In addition to 3D-reconstruction the SDK also contains functionality for accessing depth sensors and mesh post-processing such as closing holes or simplifying the model. The reconstruction result can be directly accessed as well as exported to several standard 3D data formats. "By offering the RecFusion SDK we are extending our 3D-reconstruction portfolio to offer an easy-to-use solution to customers who want to integrate real-time 3D reconstruction into their own products" says Dr. Alexander Ladikos, product manager for RecFusion.

A free evaluation version of the SDK is available at http://www.recfusion.net. The full version is sold for 499€ (incl. VAT) and includes one year of free updates and support.

Munich-based ImFusion GmbH has released version 1.1 of its 3D scanning software RecFusion for PrimeSense depth sensors (including the Microsoft Kinect und the Asus Xtion Pro Live). The software allows to interactively create 3D scans of objects in color. In version 1.1 it is now possible to run the reconstruction completely on the CPU, removing the need for a powerful GPU. In addition, it is now possible to record sequences for later reconstruction. The combination of these two features opens up new use cases for the software by making it possible to capture a sequence on a mobile device for later reconstruction on a more powerful machine. Version 1.1 also includes a post-processing filter for closing holes in the mesh and making it watertight, which is a prerequisite for 3D printing. A free evaluation version with reduced export functionality is available at http://www.recfusion.net. The full version is priced at 99€.

Munich-based ImFusion GmbH has released version 1.0 of its 3D scanning software RecFusion for PrimeSense depth sensors (including the Microsoft Kinect und the Asus Xtion Pro Live). The software allows to interactively create 3D scans of objects in color. The generated 3D model can be exported to the formats PLY, OBJ and STL. It can also be uploaded to the SketchFab online 3D model viewing service. In addition, the software offers post-processing tools for smoothing, decimating and cleaning the 3D model. The size and position of the reconstruction volume can be interactively adjusted before recording. Non-cubic reconstruction volume sizes are supported. A free evaluation version with reduced export functionality is available at http://www.recfusion.net. The full version is priced at 99€.
